Eva Maria Rugel was born in Freiburg, Germany. She started to exhibit photographic work in Berlin in 1995 and has worked at various galleries and museums. She studied German literature, Japanese Studies and Comparative Literature in Munich, Kyoto and Berlin and completed her master’s thesis titled “The Japanese photographic journal Koga (1932-1933)” in 1997. She has travelled extensively and arrived in Australia in 2007. In Melbourne she received a Diploma of photo imaging at NMIT Fairfield. Eva is a freelance photographer with a strong interest in capturing people’s emotions on camera. She has held exhibitions in Australia and overseas and been involved in a variety of galleries and museums.
http://evarugelphotography.com Sabine Nielsen was born in Wyk auf Föhr, a small island in the North Sea. She arrived in Australia in 1972 on board the MS Fairstar. She studied English and Sociology at Monash University and became a teacher. In 2000 she settled in inner Melbourne as a freelance author. She has a strong interest in the migrant experience, which is a recurring theme in her novels. She has published four mystery novels in Germany. The novels are set on the German island where she was born and in Australia. “In my Luggage ... Memories” is her first biographical work. It relates the stories of thirteen German migrants to Australia. www.sabinenielsen.com.au David Wong is a designer, artist and educator and graduated from the Institute of Design (Bauhaus) in Chicago. He is a recipient of the Thomas Watson Postgraduate Fellowship. As a designer, he has skills as an art director in visual communication and media, as a project manager and industrial designer for community building projects, and as an illustrator of children’s books. He has collaborated with architects and landscape architects on several projects and master plans and has been a member of many design teams. As an artist, he has been commissioned for public and private art installations and explores the use of landscape as material. As an educator, he designs social learning environments, works with children at the primary and secondary levels as an artist in residence, and guest lectures at universities and organizations. His work blurs the edges between art and design and between sculpture and landscape. He currently works as a freelance designer / artist from his studio in Brunswick. Ingrid has over 15 years' experience in graphic design and publishing. With tertiary degrees in Business Management (specialising in Marketing) and Interior Design, Ingrid can draw on a wide range of experiences which help form her design approach.
